This is a bitter sweet hauntingly tale of a person’s quest that remains unfortunately partially unfulfilled. A Scottish planter by the name of William Kellie Smith arrived in Malaya to find riches and fame in 1890s. Despite his business ventures brought him vast wealth and fame, his downfall at the same time brought only deaths.

Kellie’s Castle (sometimes also called Kellie’s Folly) is located near Batu Gajah, and is about 20 minutes’ drive from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Flocks of tourists from around the country but many remember only the tales of the folly or mistakes of the one of the most famous castle in the country.Having achieve immense wealth in the then Malaya, William Kellie Smith, decided to head home in Scotland to marry his sweet heart lover Agnes and bring her home to Malaya. When Agnes grew restless he promised to build for her a six-storey mansion known as Kellie’s castle. This was a testament of a husband’s dream to build a castle for his love of wife. Unfortunately, it remains a dream that was not fulfilled as he passed away shortly after that. The construction of the castle remained unfinished and the dreams unfulfilled.

Many people believe that William Kellie Smith’s death in Portugal, his spirit continues to remain in the unfinished mansion and his family. There are also many of the Smith clan had also been spotted there.
It was reported recently that a strange apparition was seen that bore a striking resemblance to William Kellie Smith. In and another unrelated incident, local tourists while strolling about the castle have spotted a young Scottish girl with curly hair in a white dress. Another incident was when several tourists when entering a room in the castle has seen a young girl which is believe to be William’s and Agnes’s daughter, Helen.
Some people has reported that those who have eerie or strange encounters, that they should not be afraid or run from the spirits instead they should consider these things as are consider as creatures of God.
